I’m a Correctional Officer and use the EDC Pry Bar just about every day to open boxes, scrape things off the walls in cells, open the face plates to the plugs on the walls in the cells (inmates love to hide contraband in there), and other tasks.

Until I actually bought one, I used to think, “why do I need one, I’ll never actually have a need for it, it’ll be a waste of money.”

Now that I have one, I think, “man I really like this thing, I’m glad I bought it.”

The only thing I wish I would have done was, more research on the size difference between the Original and XL. This one is a bit smaller than I was expecting. I need one that is at least four and a half inches to use as an Every Day Carry on my duty belt. The ORIGINAL is right under three inches, which is ok for an addition to my keys on my key ring. It actually looks really nice with my keys and fits perfect.

The finish on it is superb. I had one that I bought on eBay and did not like the finish on it. It had sharp edges and left a metal smell on my hands. It also turned different colors over time. This one is a lot prettier, yes, I said prettier. I never thought I’d call an EDC tool pretty, but it is.

I had Griffin put my personal serial number on it to give it that personal touch, which I really like, it sets it apart from the rest.

I know I’m going to really like the XL for work. It’s going to be an excellent tool on my duty belt. It’s going to help me in so many ways, especially with the measuring ruler.
